Truckee, CA…Tahoe Donner will host its second annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, at Northwoods Clubhouse.
“The midweek weather in Truckee looks pretty grim, but the forecast for Saturday is for sunshine and comfortable temperatures,” said Kirt Zimmer, marketing director for Tahoe Donner. “This is a wonderful event for adults and children alike. My family really enjoyed it last year.”
The day starts off with a Fall Fun Run at 9 a.m. with two courses, a 1 mile loop and a 5 K path, on the driving range across from Trout Creek Recreation Center. The first 100 registrants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for children (ages 12 and under) in advance, or $25 for adults and $20 for children the day of the event. Please visit tahoedonner.com to pre-register.
The Festival Fun continues down at Northwoods Clubhouse at 10 a.m. with a variety of activities for kids, adults and even dogs! Kids can explore the maze, pumpkin carving, bounce house, face painting, bowling, archery, apple bobbing, pony rides and other carnival games. Adults can sample seasonal beverages in the beer and wine garden while listening to live entertainment and perusing the local food and craft vendors. Bring your dog and enter him or her in the Doggy Dip, where all pups are invited to take the plunge into Northwoods Pool.
Admission to the festival is free, but tickets for the rides and some of the activities are $1 each. Wristbands are available for $10 each and include five tickets and unlimited rides throughout the day.
