Rancho San Rafael Regional Park’s multi-use pasture is closed to off-leash use during this week’s Great Reno Balloon Race. The pasture is scheduled to resume off-leash use at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
This is the 30th anniversary of the Balloon Races in Reno. The event is expected to bring an estimated 60,000 plus visitors to the park to enjoy watching approximately 100 balloons in flight.
Throughout the weekend, the park’s Wilbur D. May Museum will open early and host a free open house for balloon race visitors. The open house includes a display of Balloon Race posters from throughout the 30-year history of the event.
Museum hours are 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, and 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.
