The El Dorado County Department of Transportation (DOT) will be closing the eastbound U.S. 50 loop off ramp to northbound El Dorado Hills Boulevard from 11:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011. The weekend closure is necessary to reconstruct a portion of the off ramp as part of DOT’s project to add HOV lanes to U.S. 50 and to widen Latrobe Road and El Dorado Hills Boulevard. All other U.S. 50 ramps at the interchange and all lanes on El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Latrobe Road under U.S. 50 will remain open the entire weekend.
Motorists wishing to access northbound El Dorado Hills Boulevard from eastbound U.S. 50 will be detoured up U.S. 50 to Bass Lake Road, where they will be turned around and routed westbound back to the Latrobe Road/El Dorado Hills Boulevard exit.
Portable changeable message signs will be placed around the interchange to keep motorists updated on any changes to the timing of the temporary closure.
Questions regarding this temporary closure or the overall project on U.S. 50 in El Dorado Hills should be directed to Thor Larsen, Senior Civil Engineer with El Dorado County DOT. Mr. Larsen may be reached at 916-939-3758 or Thor.Larsen@edcgov.us.
